ASEAN Science Leadership Programme (ASEAN SLP)

The ASEAN Science Leadership Programme (ASEAN SLP) was inaugurated in 2016 and is an initiative of the National Science and Technology Development Agency in partnership with the Global Young Academy, inspired by the successful Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP). The ASEAN SLP is co-funded by the National Science, Technology, Innovation, and Policy Office (STI), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and PTT Public Company Limited. It serves early- to mid-career researchers in basic and applied science, engineering, social sciences, arts and the humanities.

The programme aims to grow mid-career ASEAN academics in the areas of thought leadership, team development, engagement and collaboration, with the intention of enabling them to solve the complex issues that face both ASEAN and the global community.

The inaugural programme was held in 2016 in Bangsaen, Thailand.

The Young Scientists Network–Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM) and the GYA in collaboration with the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and The World Academy of Sciences Young Affiliates Network (TYAN) is calling for applicants for the ASEAN Science Leadership Programme 2017 (7-11 September 2017).
