Pawan Poudel is a Nepali Journalist. He has done his Master’s Degree in Journalism. He has the experience of working in Damaulifm94.2 2009 to till as a Station-In-Charge, Damauli Khabar Daily,2013 to till as a Associate Editor , Annapurna post National Daily 2014- till as a reporter, Resource journalist for Community Information Network, CIN, Member, U.S. Embassy Youth Advisory Council, Nepal (2014), District president, National Youth Federation Nepal, International Service Director,Rotaract Club of Damauli and Research coordinator for Center for Knowledge Societies, India/Center for Migration studies.
Mr. Poudel has participated in various training including BBC, ACORAB(Association of Community Radio Broadcasters,Nepal), Equal Access Nepal and Federation of Nepalese Journalists.(Affiliated to journalism field), Video documentary making training (Practical Action) and Diplomatic Training program, Australia.(Human right of migrant worker). Further He has participated in Chamber of Commerce and Industries, India youth Forum, Delhi 2012, South Asia Youth Camp on Youth climate and Agriculture, Noakhali, Bangladesh and Youth summer school, Hamburg, Germany (2015).
He has also received various awards such as Excellent journalist award by ACORAB , Development Journalist fellowship from UNDP, Best Journalist award by DDC Tanahun, Best journalist award by Daily product co operatives association Tanahun and Award for best financial writer by Tanahun.
How do you motivae the youths living in developing world for the better future?
The mostly the youth from developing world are facing a lot of problems. It's because of corruption, less democratic practices and the major factor is the failure of the current leadership. There are many thing to be changed. And if you see the leadership in these countries, they're older, of family politics and don't have a willingness to bring change and which is resulting underdevelopment, corruption any political instability. And I'm sure this types of situation can be changed for this there should be;
Youth awareness campaign,
Pressure for the government from UN like body to enhance youth participation in politics and the government,
Youth friendly environment,
Youth led positive movement and many more.
Above mentioned are not only the solution but it can bring the better environment. And I hope if youth like us take initiative one day we can see better world in our lifetime. If talked about the politics youth are hating that and they don't even want to talk about it. But the bitter reality is that this bad politics lead by bad leaders is resulting our dark future. And if we just blame on them there will be no solution to our problems and to get better result we should be aware and start to take the lead. If youth becomes active we have many examples of the best result. So let's take lead for the change.
