Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students

The Italian government offers scholarships to international students. The scholarships are offered at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels, and are designed to promote international cooperation in the scientific, technological, cultural and artistic fields.

To apply for an Italian government scholarship, you must:

• Be a foreign student not residing in Italy
• Hold an appropriate academic qualification required to enroll to the Italian University/Institute
• Be fluent in Italian (if applying for a master’s or doctoral program)
• Submit an application through the STUDY IN ITALY portal

The application deadline for the 2023-2024 academic year is January 31, 2023.

Here are the steps on how to apply for an Italian government scholarship:

1. Go to the STUDY IN ITALY portal.
2. Click on the “Scholarships” tab.
3. Select the “Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students” program.
4. Click on the “Apply Now” button.
5. Create an account and fill out the application form.
6. Upload the required documents.
7. Submit your application.

The required documents for the application are:

• A copy of your passport
• A copy of your academic transcripts
• A letter of motivation
• A CV
• A copy of your language certificate (if applicable)

The Italian government scholarships cover the following expenses:

• Tuition fees
• Monthly allowance of 900 euros
• Health insurance
• Accommodation (for the first year only)

The scholarships are valid for one academic year, and may be renewed for a second year depending on the student’s academic performance.
