The Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (LExS) in Netherlands

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (LExS) is a scholarship program for outstanding non-EEA/EFTA students who wish to enroll in a full-time master’s degree program at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee for the duration of the master’s program.

To be eligible for the LExS, you must meet the following criteria:

• You must be a non-EEA/EFTA student.
• You must have been admitted to a full-time master’s degree program at Leiden University.
• You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0).
• You must have a strong research proposal.
• You must be able to demonstrate financial need.

The application deadline for the LExS is February 1st for programs starting in September and October 1st for programs starting in February. To apply, you must submit the following documents:

• A completed application form
• A copy of your university transcript
• A letter of motivation
• A research proposal
• A copy of your passport
• A financial statement

The LExS is a highly competitive scholarship program. Only a limited number of scholarships are awarded each year. If you are interested in applying, I encourage you to start planning early.
