Senior Technical Writer and Editor for Global Programs is required by ‘Pact’.

Responsibilities
- Lead the writing of responsive, high-quality proposals in accordance with Pact and donor requirements
- Facilitate technical brainstorming sessions to set proposal strategy and criteria for successful development of donor proposals
- Review, revise, edit, and improve the quality and responsiveness of proposal documents and materials
- Participate in technical reviews and incorporate feedback and revisions in a timely manner
- Review and integrate all background materials to ensure that the technical application is compliant with all technical and formatting requirements
- Lead or support the preparation and delivery of proposal design workshops
- Ensure responsiveness to donor requirements – and constructively challenge the design team to produce a high-quality product
- Work closely with the proposal manager and cost lead to ensure alignment between the technical proposal, work plans and cost proposals
- Support partner selection and engagement
- Directly supervise a small team of technical writers and editors
- Plan and prioritize requests for writing and editing support from country offices, projects, and Pact technical teams
- Support project teams to structure and develop key documents
- Review, revise, and copy-edit project reports and deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in International Development, Communications, or a related field
- At least 8 years of work experience in international development, or a relevant field
- At least 5-8 years of progressive experience developing and writing successful proposals of more than $2 million
- Experience writing successful USAID and/or DFID proposals
- Experience in one or more of Pact’s technical areas
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills
- Excellent management, communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with critical global development issues
- Ability to analyze and synthesize knowledge (inputs) into high-quality proposal output
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while still meeting deadlines and maintaining quality
Preferred Qualities
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume work flow
- Experience managing a team of mid-level staff, including a mix of in-person and remote staff
- Experience with a range of public and private donors
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with various team members, country office staff and in-country host government personnel, local partners, and donors
- Experience building staff writing skills
- Verbal and written French or Spanish fluency
