Assistant Professor of Management position available at The Bill Munday School of Business of St. Edward’s University.  The University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in Management to begin in Fall 2019.

Founded in 1885 by the Congregation of Holy Cross, St. Edward’s University is a private, Catholic liberal arts institution of more than 4,600 diverse students located in Austin, Texas. The community atmosphere extends to the approximately 800 faculty and staff who work together to make the university a welcoming yet challenging environment for students. The Bill Munday School of Business offers several undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting, and Master of Science in Leadership and Change. Over 1,200 students are enrolled in the undergraduate and graduate business programs offered by The Bill Munday School of Business. The school educates students to excel professionally in the dynamic 21st century business environment.

Responsibilities

• Advising undergraduate students.
• Interacting with local, regional, national, and international business, nonprofit, government, and community representatives to develop experiential learning opportunities for students.
• Developing new courses and curriculum as needed.
• Participating in assessment of student performance in the discipline.
• Maintaining commitment to social responsibility in the classroom, in line with the University’s mission.
• Maintaining an active, quality research agenda leading to refereed publications in the field.
• Meeting School and University service requirements through participation in committees and campus initiatives.
• Fulfill other required faculty responsibilities as outlined in the St. Edward’s University Faculty Manual.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB-accredited business program with specialization in Management or related field.
• Tenure-track status requires a degree completed by August 2019.
• A demonstrated record or strong potential for scholarship in peer reviewed publications.
• Basic understanding of AACSB 2013 standards and practices.
• Evidence of excellent teaching potential.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Experience with and commitment to working with a diverse population.
• Prior teaching experience and business industry experience preferred.
• Interest in our university’s global initiatives preferred.
• Successful candidate must complete an education and/or criminal background check.
