Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering position available at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington. The University invites applications or nominations for a full-time tenure-track faculty position (9 month service period) to begin September 16, 2019.
The University of Washington is a leader in advancing data sciences across all disciplines (eScience.washington.edu) and is home to world-class efforts in molecular engineering and sciences (http://www.moles.washington.edu), nano-engineered systems (http://www.nano.uw.edu), and clean energy (http://cei.washington.edu). Chemical Engineering plays a leadership role in the development of educational and research programs in all three institutes. The Department of Chemical Engineering is growing and currently has a core group of 26 research and tenure-track faculty, 14 joint and adjunct faculty, and about 220 undergraduate, 100 graduate, and 25 post-doctoral students.
University of Washington seeks candidates who will advance the department’s strategic initiative in data science and interests in: systems engineering, molecular, quantum and nanoscale science and engineering, clean energy, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or any other areas of interest to Chemical Engineering. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Applicants are expected to describe plans for creating innovative and high quality research and teaching programs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a PhD or foreign equivalent in chemical engineering or a related field, by the date of appointment. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding potential for high impact research as judged, in part, by their publication record and other research products in an area that broadly supports our campus initiatives.
