Academic Coordinator (New York location) is required in the Masters of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) program at Carnegie Mellon University.

Carnegie Mellon is a private, global research university, internationally known in artificial intelligence, the performing arts, business administration, economics and computer science. The Masters of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) program, ranked one of the top-ranked quantitative finance programs in the country, is the joint venture between four Carnegie Mellon colleges, the Tepper School of Business, the Math Department in Mellon College of Science, the Statistics and Data Science Department in Dietrich School of Social Sciences and the Heinz College for programming.

Carnegie Mellon University’s MSCF department is searching for a part-time, fixed term Academic Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by performing a wide variety of administrative responsibilities in support of the Computational Finance Program in the New York office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the MSCF New York calendar for all classes, events, and presentations.
  • Provide assistance to professor regarding class photo roster, course materials, homework collection and distribution.
  • Work with the MSCF Director to proctor exams at the New York location in accordance with University guidelines.
  • Submit timely payment of all location bills.
  • Welcome and check-in students and visitors for appointments and events.
  • Order food for all campus events, including but not limited to professor visits, alumni and student events.
  • Set up technology when New York IT manager is not on a campus.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of administrative support experience required

Salary

$20 – $22 / hour DOE
