Grants Finance Specialist, for Development Programmes Unit and Major Partnerships Unit, position is available at Plan International UK.

It is recruiting a Grants Finance Specialist to support our Development Programmes Unit and Major Partnerships Unit with the management of the budgetary and financial aspects, including reporting, compliance and risk, as relates to donor-funded grants and contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- provide efficient and effective support to the Development Programmes Unit (DPU) as well as the Major Partnerships Unit (MPU)
- Support work on a large accountable grant funded by DFID, via PwC as Fund Manager, managing the financial reporting, financial compliance and risk aspects.
- Review and assist with the development of project proposal budgets and budget development guidance, budget modifications and contract revisions, ensuring that these comply with donor requirements.
- Review and consolidation of budgets and financial reports when working with partners.
Review PS Financials (Plan International UK’s accounting system) project fund balances. - Review financial aspects of new grants and contracts with Programme Management Specialists and Country Offices.
- Support the Grants Finance Manager in providing financial training to non-finance staff.
- Share responsibility with the Programme Management Specialists in preparing for and conducting start-up and finance related workshops for Country Offices and implementing partners.
- Facilitate the settling of inter-company invoices between Plan International UK and Country Offices.
- Ensure that all activities undertaken on behalf of Plan International UK, internally or externally, are in line with the overall aims of the organisation and with policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and other activities as requested
Qualifications and Requirements
- Taking a hands-on approach in the Grants Finance Team dealing with financial management, reporting, analysis, reconciliation, risk and financial compliance issues
- Highly confident and experienced with Excel.
- Quickly developing expert-level knowledge on complex technical financial compliance areas
- Accounting (and be a qualified accountant or working towards a CCAB-recognised qualification) – Desirable
