World Bank Group Hiring Associate Infrastructure Engineer in Chennai, India

The World Bank Group is seeking an Associate Infrastructure Engineer to join its Infrastructure Engineering Team in Chennai, India. This role supports the organization’s global digital operations, driving enterprise storage, backup automation, and cloud infrastructure for sustainable development projects.

The position focuses on designing, implementing, and operating storage and backup automation solutions across on-premises and cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and OCI. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cohesity backup systems, Pure Storage arrays, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep), as well as strong programming skills in Python and at least one additional scripting language.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build automated pipelines for storage provisioning, protection, recovery, and lifecycle management.
• Administer Cohesity backup environments and optimize Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade systems.
• Implement IaC and CI/CD workflows, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant deployments.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, conduct disaster recovery exercises, and maintain high-quality documentation.
• Collaborate across teams in a matrixed, global environment to lead implementations, migrations, and upgrades.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree with 5+ years or Bachelor’s with 7+ years of relevant experience in storage/backup/recovery engineering.
• Hands-on experience with cloud storage services (AWS, Azure, OCI).
• Proficiency with Cohesity, Pure Storage, Linux/Unix, networking, and automation tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python and Bash, PowerShell, or Go.
• Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow), security/compliance, and disaster recovery planning.

Preferred Certifications: AWS/Azure/OCI Cloud, SAFe DevOps, ITIL 4 Intermediate.
