Associate Information Systems Officer position is available in the ERP/Umoja project in the Department of Management, Strategy, Policy and Compliance in New York. The Associate Information Systems Officer (SAP Software and Technical Support) will report to an Information Systems Officer or a Senior Information Systems Officer and will be assigned to the BW-HANA-BI team.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in preparing user requirements and other technical specifications for the implementation of the BW-HANA-BI team’s work and processes, particularly programming, configuration, workflow and process integration.
- Assist in the design, development, test and roll out of the above suite of technical services and processes.
- Undertake complex system analysis of well-defined modules within the system, develop enhancements and new features to existing systems; may design and implement systems as needed.
- Support specific modules and applications, including in the context of production support in BW-HANA-BI.
- Provide operational support to data security and integrity.
- Participate in developing disaster recovery plans, contingency plan or risk solution plan.
- Prepare, update and maintain system’s documentation and related technical/procedural manuals.
- Assist in the tracking and monitoring of SAP software performance measures.
- Draft training materials and conducts training sessions and demonstrations of systems for users.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A first-level university degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related area.
- Experience on data analysis, reporting and analytical tools, along with experience working on large volumes of data is required.
- Experience with a SAP Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] system is desirable.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
No experience is required for candidates who have passed United Nations Young Professional Programme Examination (YPP) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
