Director – Human Resources (Employee Relations, Office of Institutional Equity & Title IX) position is available at the Charleston Campus of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN).
About the Position
Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (Sr. AVP /CHRO), this position exists to act as the primary point person to provide advice and counsel to employees and supervisor/managers on all matters related to employee relations to ensure the proper and consistent application of policies. In conjunction with the Sr. AVP/CHRO, this position handles the most confidential and complex employee relations issues and routinely interacts with and provides advice and counsel to the College’s most senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex and highly confidential employee investigation including interviewing/taking statements from involved parties, analyzing all applicable information
- Responsible for the development of strategies and tactics so that managers/supervisors are adequately equipped to effectively deal with employee-relation issues.
- Work in collaboration with the College’s training organization, outside vendors, State of Nevada training representatives
- Act as a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to employee relations
- Act as primary Title IX Coordinator and as such responsible for all Title IX duties.
- Act as a subject matter expert on relevant laws, regulations and policies for various classes of employees.
- Participate as a member or the Behavioral Intervention Team and act as a subject matter expert on that team to matters pertaining to employees.
- Work closely with General Counsel’s Office, Office of Institutional Equity, Campus Police and departmental managers on matters pertaining to employee relations.
Salary
$83,340 – $97,981
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or Business Management/Administration.
- 5 years of related professional experience.
- 2-3 years of comparable supervisory experience.
Preferred
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
- SPHR or PHR certification.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Experience working with Title IX.
