IRIS@NUS 2026–2027: Fully Funded Research Internship in Singapore

The Internship and Research Immersion in Singapore (IRIS)@NUS is a fully funded research internship offered by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate School for outstanding undergraduate and master’s students from around the world.

The programme provides 2–3 months of research experience with NUS faculty, access to advanced research facilities and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research projects.

Benefits

Selected participants receive a SGD 1,200 monthly stipend, SGD 600 travel allowance and complimentary on-campus accommodation. Participants also receive a certificate of completion from NUS Graduate School.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or Master’s programme.
  • Maintain student status at their home university throughout the internship.
  • Have a minimum overall or major GPA of 3.5/4.0.
  • Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least two years of study.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in academic research.
  • Current NUS students are not eligible.

Required Documents

Applicants need to submit:

  • Academic transcript
  • CV of no more than two A4 pages
  • Personal statement
  • Two recommendation letters

Recommendation letters must be received by 6 September 2026.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted through the NUS Graduate Admission System (GDA3). Applicants should select the January 2027 intake and the IRIS@NUS Programme, then upload the required documents.
