
The ITU Academy, in collaboration with UNDP, is offering a free online training course on Responsible Digital Transformation: Impact Assessments for AI and Data Governance. The course is designed for policymakers, government officials and development professionals working with AI, digital transformation and data governance.
The four-week course will be conducted online from 6 to 27 October 2026, with a maximum of 35 participants. The training is supported by the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy and is free for selected participants.
Participants will learn practical approaches to responsible AI and digital governance, including:
Participants will work in teams on a real-world AI or digital governance use case and develop a draft impact assessment and mitigation plan.
The course is primarily intended for government officials, policymakers and development practitioners working in digital transformation, AI or data governance.
Applicants should have a basic understanding of digital systems and AI and ideally two or more years of relevant professional experience. Applicants must also have either a relevant undergraduate degree or at least three years of relevant experience, along with fluent English.
Government officials and policymakers from developing countries, particularly women, are encouraged to apply.
