Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals 2027/2028 in Sweden (Fully Funded)

The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) is a prestigious Swedish government scholarship for international professionals who want to pursue a master’s degree in Sweden. Funded by the Swedish Institute (SI), the programme supports future leaders who can contribute to sustainable development in their home countries and regions.

For the 2027/2028 academic year, the scholarship supports eligible, full-time, English-taught master’s programmes at participating Swedish universities. Applicants are expected to demonstrate professional experience, leadership potential, and a clear vision of how their education will contribute to positive social, economic, or environmental change.

The scholarship is highly competitive and is intended for applicants who combine academic ambitions with professional achievements and a commitment to sustainable development.

Scholarship Benefits

Selected scholars receive the following financial and professional benefits:

  • Full tuition fees: The Swedish Institute pays the tuition fees directly to the university for the duration of the awarded programme.
  • Monthly living allowance: SEK 12,000 per month to help cover living expenses throughout the scholarship period.
  • Travel grant: A one-time grant of SEK 15,000 for eligible scholars, with a reduced grant of SEK 10,000 for citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.
  • Professional networking: Membership in the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) during the scholarship.
  • Alumni network: Access to the Sweden Alumni Network after completing the scholarship.

What is not covered? The scholarship does not cover the university application fee, insurance, additional grants for family members, or costs associated with extending or changing the awarded programme. The travel grant is not available to scholars already living in Sweden.

Eligible Fields of Study

The scholarship supports selected English-taught master’s programmes in areas including:

  • Governance
  • Public health
  • Entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)

The Swedish Institute will publish the official list of eligible master’s programmes for 2027/2028 on 13 November 2026. Applicants must verify that their chosen programme appears on this list.
