UCC wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Hydraulic Engineering. Reporting to the Head of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will undertake research and teaching in hydraulic engineering and fluid mechanics.

Applicants should have relevant degrees to doctorate level in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering or cognate areas and an appropriate track record of research and publications in areas relevant to Hydraulic Engineering. They should also have relevant experience and/or a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Industry experience, including research links would be an advantage. A track record in securing funding for, and participating in, national and international research projects would be an advantage. In addition to teaching Hydraulic Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and related areas, the successful candidate will be required to undertake research and generate research funding in key strategically important areas relevant to Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and Energy Engineering; in the School of Engineering and in the MaREI Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy (www.marei.ie). The successful candidate will also be required to participate in appropriate administrative and/or leadership roles across the discipline, school and university.
