Role Description

Basically, the new recruitment Mass communication professor will have to lecture and tutor courses in media and public relations including PR writing, PR campaigns, tactics, and planning, teaching big-data usage and research methods for journalism majors. In addition to that, the professor will be responsible for creating online contents and learning materials, and also to update them timely in the university study portal (like a Blackboard).

furthermore, then he/she will have to fulfill the following duties

• teach twelve credit hours per semester, teach primarily courses in public relations, digital media, multimedia storytelling, big-data and journalism fundamentals
• work as an academic advisor and mentors when needed
• participation in scholarly/creative projects and professional organizations
• perform all other duties related to the discipline and assigned by the faculty head

Qualifications and requirements

• Ph.D. in Mass Communication or related Communication field (preferably Journalism)
• At least two years of teaching experience (preferably in higher education)
• ability to use and adopt modern teaching methods and technologies
• commitment to professional, community, and/or university service
• able to interact, take leadership and teach in a diverse multi-cultural environment
• very strong interpersonal communication skills
• ability to think critically, and create, implement and maintain classroom management strategies
