Position: Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy

About position

West Coast University is seeking a highly prominent Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. The position holder will directly report to the Dean of the program. Here are the key duties that the incumbent should perform

• Provides program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives.
• Similarly, supports University, Campus, and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace and placement expectations.
• Provides professional leadership and support and serves as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.
• Also, creates an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability.
• In addition to that, focuses extensively on facilitating student learning associated with the prescribed course and program learning outcomes.
• Furthermore, actively and substantively participates in the assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes.
• Above all, vigorously upholds a culture of academic integrity.

Required skills and qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or related field from an accredited university required.
• Experience in neuron-rehabilitation, or mental health, or orthopedic/hand rehabilitation, or pediatrics.
• Meet as well as maintain the qualifications and standards set forth by any accreditation body that West Coast University.
• The license of Occupational Therapist in the state of California as well as membership with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• At least five years of experience in Clinal occupation therapy.
• Background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments.
