Position: Associate Art Director

On April 21, 2012, Benefit Cosmetics won a Guinness World Record for accomplishing the most eyebrow waxes performed in 8 hours by a team, completing 382 eyebrow waxes.
About position
Benefit Cosmetics is seeking a dynamic, prominent and enthusiastic Associate Art Director to own visual strategy & content creation of digital assets for Benefit’s social media accounts & brand campaigns. Moreover, s/he manages a team of content creators/photographers. The position holder must possess a strong understanding of photography & translation of brand identity through photos and video.
Roles and responsibilities
- Drive the visual aesthetic of digital assets, with a major focus on Instagram.
- Strategize, brainstorm & produce social assets (photos, videos, graphics) and retail partner content needs. Also, analyze performance and make recommendations on improvements.
- Collaborate with other creative team members (design, experiential, copy) to collectively develop cohesive brand campaigns. Similarly, manage the production of photography and video needs for campaigns.
- Identify as well as manage creative partners (production houses, freelancers, creative influencers) to produce assets for Benefit that fit brand aesthetic and drive trend-forward content.
- Ensure graphics quality, consistency and adherence to brand identity in all visual assets produced.
- Understand and strategically apply the latest platform/industry/creative trends and digital best practices. Also, manage time effectively across multiple jobs adhering to production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- In addition to that, all other duties as assigned.
Required skills and qualifications
- A strong visual aesthetic and additionally, 5 years of experience working in a digital creative department or agency.
- Strong understanding of the digital landscape as well as a passionate user of digital technologies who are curious about the evolution of this space.
- Proficiency in social media & digital creative best practices for highly visual social mediums.
- Ability to lead with creative vision and inspire the team to think conceptually and create exciting elevated creative solutions. Also, Clearly and effectively articulate ideas and bring new ideas to the forefront.
- Excellence in visual design, including typography & photography. Similarly, expertise of the photo/video shoot process as well as the video production process.
- Extremely proficient in the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite web design tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects on time and in a fast paced environment. Similarly, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Furthermore, excellent attention to detail and quality.
