The European Organization for Nuclear Research (also known as CERN) is the European research organization. It operates the largest Particles Physics laboratory in the world. This 1954 established organization has 23 member countries. Using the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments, scientists of CERN studies basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that collide together at close to the speed of light. In general, CERN’s main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure for high-energy physics research. And as a result, numerous experiments have been constructed at CERN through international collaborations.
CERN is looking for a junior software developer to join its Beams Department which hosts the Groups responsible for beam generation, acceleration, diagnostics, controls, and performance optimization. Basically, the position holder will involve in producing, testing, commissioning and maintaining the software required for the diagnostic devices used by the accelerator operators to control the particle beams being accelerated at CERN.
