Nominations are open for the Sister-to-Sister Mentorship Program Nominations. Coady Institute is partnering with the Nobel Women’s Initiative once again for the Sister-to-Sister Mentorship Program. For Change Leaders like You
Coady International Institute builds resilient communities, strengthens inclusive economies, and promotes accountable democracies through the mobilization of community change leaders on a local and global level.

Moreover, Over the past seven years, the Sister-to-Sister Mentorship Program has provided valuable advocacy and grassroots organizing training to incredible young women activists from around the world. The program supports young women’s rights activists in their international advocacy and media work. Further, Participants learn and practice essential skills in a safe, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

Six feminist peace activists will travel to Ottawa, Canada for six-week communication. Also, advocacy training from October 21 to November 29, 2019. One week during this period will be spent at Coady Institute in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Participants will work closely with Nobel Women’s Initiative, Coady Institute. Further,  outside facilitators to build advocacy and communications skills, as well as to meet with experts working in related areas. Further,  Upon returning home, participants will continue to receive support from the Nobel Women’s Initiative team. Also, the Coady Institute for the period of December 2019 to April 2020. Coady offers educational programming for emerging and established community leaders with a passion for social change.

Coady’s specialty courses focus on building resilient communities, strengthening inclusive economies, and promoting accountable democracies, and constituency programming are available for Indigenous leaders, women leaders, and youth leaders. Programs are hosted both on-campus at StFX University in Canada and off-campus in communities around the globe.

Eligibility

  • Five of the spots are open to feminist leaders from the Global South. Applications from organizations operating in conflict or post-conflict countries from the Middle East and North Africa, Burma, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Great Lakes Region/East Africa, Liberia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Sudan, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico will be given preference;
  • The sixth spot is open to a young First Nations, Métis, or Inuit woman leader focused on social justice issues and working with a First Nations, Métis or Inuit, social justice, or peace organization;
  • Eligible women must be 21 to 30 years of age.
