About position
Casio America Inc. is seeking dynamic and highly technical expert Linux Administrator for operational requirements for Casio Inc. Internet systems.
In particular, s/he will do the following functions in the organization
- Responsible for performing administrative tasks to maintain system operation, install new systems, maintain system security and performance
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining services in Apache, MySQL as well as providing various system logs and search them with proficiency.
- Create and mount file systems and also identify hardware problems and schedule maintenance of systems.
- Perform patching on a Red Hat system and kernel upgrades. Similarly, add and configure basic PHP and Apache modules and perform server QC
- Responsible for building and maintaining documentation for production and development systems Similarly, provide end-user support in systems administration areas, develop and update systems documentation and provide back-up for other members of IT Infrastructure team
- Ensures availability of 24×7 on-call support for emergencies and attends to obligations and supports other company initiatives as directed.
- Furthermore, ensures business, functional, and technical requirements are met with Internet production systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science related field or industry equivalent experience.
- NIS and NFS.
- CIFS, SSH, DHCP, DNS (Bind)
- Apache web server.
- Data center experience (racking, cabling, install and configuration, configuration management).
- Excellent written as well as verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of common text editor and able to troubleshoot and configure standard services, Web/mail/DN.
- Understanding of DNS principles, understand zone files and be the ability to add/change DNS entries. Similarly, good knowledge of PHP configuration and My SQL.
- Basic ability to read and interpret Firewall and Load Balancer Configurations. Similarly, the ability to build\deploy tools that report system health and trouble.
- Furthermore, good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team member.
