Roles and responsibilities

Research duties

• Designing and conducting computational neuroimaging studies.
• Acquiring neuroimaging (MEG, EEG, and MRI) and behavioral data from human participants.
• Contribute to the development of new generation Magnetoencephalography (based on Optically Pumped Magnetometers).
• Developing new research ideas aligned with the project.
• Under supervision, participating in research independently and as a member of a research team.
• Producing publications arising from scholarship and research, such as peer-reviewed journal articles.
• Attending/presenting at relevant conferences relevant to the project.
• Assist with advising honors and postgraduate students in the GarridoLab as well as identify and apply for future research funding opportunities.

Additional duties

• Attending the weekly laboratory meeting, and relevant School and Faculty committee meetings.
• Supporting the broad ethos of the School and the School’s compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Also, participate in activities that strengthen the links between the University and the community and which help in the dissemination and utilization of psychological knowledge.
• Furthermore, Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities whenever needed.

Minimum requirements

• A Ph.D. or near completion of a Ph.D. in an area of cognitive neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, or a cognate field. In addition to that, strong evidence of ability and desire to build an academic career trajectory.
• Experience with data collection and/or analysis of at least one neuroimaging modality (MEG, EEG, or fMRI).
• Strong computational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate research through the presentation in a public forum including conferences.
• Similarly, demonstrated the ability to articulate and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
• Evidence of well-developed organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Matlab).
