Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Management, Organizational Behavior/Human Resources

About the University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut is a public land-grant  National Sea Grant and National Space Grant research university. It is in Storrs, Connecticut, United States. UConn is one of the founding institutions of the Hartford, Connecticut/Springfield, Massachusetts regional economic and cultural partnership alliance famous as New England’s Knowledge Corridor. About role

The Management Department of UConn invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful tenure-track appointment will begin in Fall 2020. Basically, the assistant professor will contribute to research and scholarship through high-quality publications. Similarly, s/he will also participate in prominent national and international academic conferences. S/he will further help guide research efforts in their areas of expertise.

In addition to research, the individual will be expected to teach appropriate courses at the undergraduate, masters, and/or Ph.D. levels, including the supervision of Ph.D. students, and participate in outreach and service activities. A successful candidate will share a deep commitment to effective instruction. A successful candidate will also be assisting the University in its efforts to broaden participation among members of under-represented groups; demonstrate through their research, teaching, and/or public engagement the richness of diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into relevant course content; contribute to the development of pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.

Required qualifications

In order to be fit for the role, the ideal candidate must have the following qualification

  • For Assistant Professor Rank:  Completed Ph.D. in management or related field, or expected by August 22, 2020. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable.
  • For Associate Professor Rank:  Completed Ph.D. in management or related field and a record of scholarly productivity (with developing national reputation) that would support appointment to the rank of tenured Associate Professor of Management
  • In addition to that, publications, or potential to publish, in premier management journals. Similarly, demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education.
  • A deep commitment to promoting diversity through their academic and research programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated collegiality.
  • Furthermore,  experience in undergraduate and MBA teaching and an interest in training doctoral students preferred.
