A private Baptist University in Houston, Texas is seeking enthusiastic, energetic and caliber Online Admission Counselor. In general, the position holder will oversee the admission counseling activities online. He/she will assist the prospective or future students with the application process.

Key duties

In particular, the Online Admissions Counselor will contribute the institution in the following ways

• Communicating all admissions, academic, and administrative policies advising the student on necessary next steps.
• Assisting students in setting short-term goals and follow-up with students. Similarly, assisting a student while utilizing several resources simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of all university resources and the ability to appropriately communicate necessary information to prospective students.
• Providing accurate information to prospective students as they consider their education opportunities with HBU. Also, providing customer service and support to prospective, new, and matriculated students.
• Utilizing university resources to track student progress and identify outcomes as well as utilizing proactive outreach strategies to build strong working relationships with a student population.
• Responding to emails and/or phone calls within 24 business hours with the goal of the same day
• Furthermore, the position holder will prepare special projects and temporary duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience

In order to be eligible for the role, the ideal candidate will have the following qualification

• University/College degree from an accredited institution. In addition to that, three years of experience in the academic sector preferred but not a requirement.
• Confident in using PC and Mac applications and application to operate daily tasks.
• Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
• Must possess a good work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Similarly, the ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines as well as an ability to quickly learn and use specific business software and hardware.
