Position summary
The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) non-profit scientific research organization that conducts research on the use and management of forests with a focus on tropical forests in developing countries. CIFOR invites eligible, energetic and enthusiastic Economist/Social Scientist for Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Analysis. In particular, the incumbent will perform the following duties
- Design as well as implement a monitoring framework for a multi-country integrated landscape management project coordinated by CIFOR.
- Advise on the application of the theory of change in project design and implementation. Similarly, manage the collection and use of data for learning and project improvement.
- Coordinate the dissemination of emerging project lessons through sub-national, national and international forums.
Requirements
In order to be fit for the position, the ideal candidate must have the following qualification and competencies
- University degree in Economics or Social or Environmental Sciences, Forestry or Agricultural Science or any other specialized field of study, ideally with an interface to Monitoring & Evaluation
- In addition to that, several years of experience in monitoring & evaluation, the theory of change and the management of complex data records.
- Proven ability in project management and partner coordination as well as an ability to work effectively with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Strong written and spoken English, ideally French.
- Willing to travel in Indonesia and internationally;
- Citizenship of an EU member state is the most.

- Two-year initial local employment contract. However, contract may be extended on an annual basis after completion of the first two-year term.
