Position: Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computer Science and Engineering

Position summary

The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking an eligible candidate to apply for the position of Tenure Track position in the Faculty. The position holder will be working within the innovative CU Boulder-Western Partnership, a 2-2 program that allows Western students to complete a computer science degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder while living in Gunnison and attending CU courses (taught by CU faculty) on Western’s campus.

Teaching responsibilities include 12 undergraduate credits per semester across the breadth of computer science topics, from algorithms to web development. The position also requires advising, ongoing professional development, participation in the administration of the discipline, and university service. Furthermore, the s/he might also need to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

In order to be eligible for the role, the candidate must have the following qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• Candidates must possess strong communication skills, a commitment to undergraduate education and to working directly with students.
• Applicants with significant and broad teaching experience are especially encouraged to apply.
• Furthermore, collegiality is characteristic of the department and will be sought in the successful candidate.
