Position: Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Elder Conservatorium of Music

Responsibilities

The Elder Conservatorium of Music is seeking a senior academic with proven research and teaching capabilities in the discipline of music. Moreover, the role will contribute to the Conservatorium’s reputation for excellence in teaching; producing research outputs that have national and international impact and act as an advocate for music within academic and community contexts.

Furthermore, the role will help lead and encourage an environment of professional excellence, creativity, and innovation and engage with the broader academic, research and professional community, to promote and enhance the national and international profile of the Conservatorium and the University.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications

• Doctorate in music in an area relevant to the Conservatorium’s research aspirations and Australian Field of Research (FoR) 1904. In addition to that, excellence in teaching music within a university environment.
• A record of academic distinction and significant professional standing in the field of music.
• Similarly, a research track record with evidence of recent quality outputs in FoR 1904 and evidence of research leadership and competitive grant success.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of scholarship, research and engagement within the Conservatorium including the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, to mentor others and to provide guidance and support for students and staff.
