Key duties

The incumbent will perform the following duties

• Teach undergraduate-level mathematics courses.
• Maintain an active program of scholarship as well as serve as a mentor for student research projects and activities.
• Provide student academic advising and evaluation, and also participate in professional development activities.
• Engage in service to the department, university, and profession.
• Furthermore, perform other program and department-level duties as assigned.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications to apply for this vacancy at Colorado Mesa University

• Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics from a regionally accredited institution, completed by August 2020. However, ABD candidates are also eligible to apply.
• An academic background in applied mathematics, as demonstrated by the dissertation topic, current scholarly activities, and/or recent teaching experience.
• Also, experience in teaching undergraduate mathematics courses as well as demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Furthermore, evidence of dedication to scholarship, particularly in the mentoring of undergraduate research, and a demonstrated commitment to service activities will help to further distinguish the applicant preferred.
