Swansea University provides a number of scholarships, bursaries, and awards to students in order to support and encourage them to study. In addition to that, many of the scholarships for international students are based on academic merit and work experience. But Eira Francis Davies Scholarships at Swansea University is a scholarship for female candidates from the developing countries.

Scholarship benefit

The Eira Francis Davies Scholarships covers the full tuition cost of a female candidate from developing countries who want to pursue a postgraduate taught Master’s program within Swansea University College of Human and Health Sciences.

Requirements 

Any female from the developing country must have the following qualifications to be eligible for Eira Francis Davies Scholarship at Swansea University

  • Hold a minimum of 2:1 Bachelors’s degree or equivalent qualification. In addition to that, an applicant must hold an offer to study an eligible, full-time, postgraduate taught Master’s program within the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University.   • The applicant must be a new student at Swansea University. Candidate must demonstrate strong academic ability, financial requirement and desire to study their chosen course at Swansea University.
  • Must not receive any other financial support from Swansea University (e.g. tuition fee reduction, scholarship or bursary). Similarly, candidates must not be a progressing student from The College, Swansea University.
  • Furthermore, s/he must be a national of, and ordinarily resident in, a non-EU, developing country listed by the World Bank Country and Lending Groups classification as being ‘low income’ or ‘lower-middle-income’.

It is the third-largest university in Wales in terms of enrollment as the university manages more than 20,000 students in 7 colleges.  In 2016, The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide titled Swansea University as the best university in Wales.
