United Nations calls applications for the fully funded fellowship program for 2020. Interested applicants can apply until 24th February. It is the International Law Fellowship Program and is open to candidates who have a legal background with professional experience in the field of international law.
The Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs organizes the fellowship program.
Additionally, the program provides high-quality training by prominent international law scholars and practitioners on a broad range of core topics of international law.

Eligibility

The candidates must meet the following criteria for the fully funded fellowship program

• They must be able to communicate in French as the 2020 Program will be conducted in French.
• The candidates must have a legal background with professional experience in the field of international law.
• The selected participants must submit a medical certificate of good health to certify that they are able to attend the entirety of the course on a full-time basis.

Benefits

• The fellowships cover the fellowship recipient’s travel costs in economy class, accommodation, medical insurance, participation in the Fellowship Program, the training material and the registration fee for The Hague Academy of International Law.
• Along with the policies and procedures governing the administration of the United Nations fellowships, participants will also receive a stipend to cover other living expenses.
• Additionally qualified candidates may also apply for self-funded positions.
• Likewise, self-funded participants bear all costs associated with their participation. They include travel, accommodation, living expenses and registration fee for The Hague Academy of International Law.
• Furthermore, training materials are provided to all self-funded participants free of charge.

Application Procedure

• The candidates must complete the application form in French.
• Their answers should be as detailed as possible.
• Also, if the candidates need extra space, they can attach additional pages.
• The administrators will not consider incomplete applications.
• Also, a senior official of the institution that is presenting the candidate’s application must sign the “Letter of Transmission”
• Likewise, a candidate whose mother tongue or language of instruction is not French must submit evidence of his/her ability to attend and participate in lectures and seminars conducted in French
