Qualifications

The candidates must have the following qualifications for the Vacancy for the Assistant Professor in the USA

•  They must have an advanced degree in special education or a related area preferred
• Also, they must have at least five years of full-time teaching experience with students with mild to moderate disabilities in urban, diverse settings?
• Additionally, they should demonstrate commitment to diversity and equity in education through teaching, professional development, and/or school partnerships experience;
• Furthermore, they should show the ability to travel across all NYC boroughs, including Staten Island and Long Island.
• In addition to that, the incumbents must demonstrate the evidence of expertise in reading/literacy methods; building school-partnerships or teacher residencies in the New York City area.

Responsibilities

The incumbents will do the following duties as an Assistant Professor

• They must teach graduate courses in special education at our Staten Island and Queens campuses,
• Also, they will supervise graduate students doing practicum/ field-work in areas of childhood/ adolescence special education
• In addition to that, they should support the advisement of students in Graduate programs at Staten Island. That includes working closely with Program faculty and P-12 educators to develop effective teaching-research partnerships in high needs school districts on Staten Island.
