• College of Science and Technology at WKU is seeking a vibrant candidate to lead the computer science program. The program is rapidly growing and will be moving into a new building for Fall 2020.
• Additionally, the candidate should significantly contribute to the growth of the program, including, but not limited to: building a strong faculty team, supporting faculty to learn modern teaching practice and produce highly impactful research outcomes. Also,  curriculum development, program assessment, creating research opportunities for undergraduates and graduate students, etc.

Duties

The candidate will have the following responsibilities

• He/she will assume administrative responsibilities, i.e., preparing and supervising faculty teaching schedules
• Also, managing the hiring process of new faculty, developing new programs and courses and managing the student advisement plan.
• In addition, she/he will carry out operational responsibilities, i.e., preparing and managing the budget; recommending and approving travel and professional training for faculty, etc.
• Also, the candidate will be able to teach a full range of undergraduate and graduate computer science courses
• The candidate is expected to teach 6 credit hours in each of the spring and fall semesters.
•  The candidate must have an on-going agenda for student engaging research and publications
• Additionally, he/she should pursue and acquire external grants to support his/her research program.
• The candidate will perform outreach to the professional practice community.

Qualifications

The candidate should meet the following requirements for the Vacancy for Assistant Professor in China

• A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is required for the Executive Director.
• Also, a minimum of eight years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level with demonstrated administrative management experience.
• Furthermore, absolute English fluency is required for the position.

• Kean University-Wenzhou is a 500-acre Kean University satellite campus in the city of Wenzhou, in East China’s Zhejiang Province. It went into full operation in 2014.
• Additionally, Kean University-Wenzhou would have been China’s first full-scale American-style university in 2007, but the plans became caught up in red tape in the Chinese central government.
• In December 2011, the Chinese government ultimately approved Kean University’s preliminary plans to establish a degree-granting branch campus in Zhejiang Province.
