The Roddenberry Foundation calls application for the Roddenberry Prize.

The Roddenberry Foundation (TRF) makes catalytic, timely investments in original ideas and extraordinary people who can change the world. Through three core programs, the foundation cast a wide net to uncover and support these great, often untested ideas and the individuals and organizations whose vision and leadership has the potential to bring them to fruition.

Purpose

The Roddenberry prize aims to highlight extraordinary organizations and support their efforts towards greater impact. The prize will seek out creative approaches from diverse members of the global community and also inspire others to take innovative and creative approaches to global problems.

Prize 

Four winners of the Roddenberry Prize will receive $250,000 each. Moreover, awards will be announced in August 2020 as the top organizations in each issue area that are not awarded a prize will be recognized publicly as Finalists.

Eligibilities 

The Roddenberry Foundation Prize is open to all the individuals, non-profits, social enterprises, and B-corps. In particular, the entree candidates must have the following features

• Individuals who are 18 years of age or older
• Organizations or institutions with a budget of $10mil or less. Similarly, organizations whose primary focus of their work is either Education, Science, Environment, or Humanity.
• Submit an application in English. In addition to that, they must include completed responses to all required application questions.
• Agree to all legal terms and conditions of the Prize grant program as well as be able to legally receive grant funding.

• March 4, 2020 – Prize Round One Opens
• April 10, 2020 by 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time – Prize Round One Deadline
• May 11, 2020 – Prize Round Two Opens
• June 5, 2020 by 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time – Prize Round Two Deadline
• August 2020 – Prize Awardees Announced
