General Summary
The Project Coordinator within the Center for Social Development and Education will manage and organize the daily operations of research and evaluation projects that address social inclusion, social-emotional learning, and inclusivity in middle and high school students with and without disabilities. These are large-scale, national projects involving multiple sites and multiple stakeholders.
Duties
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of ongoing research/evaluation projects, including correspondence, scheduling activities
- Additionally, drawing on theories, frameworks, concepts, and the literature on youth development, social-emotional learning, and/or disability, assist in designing studies and research methods protocols for the various projects, including new grant proposals;
- Also, oversee site visits/observations at schools, as well as student and teacher interviews and online surveys of students, teachers, and program staff
- Likewise, oversee the data management system established for the collection, coding and analyzing of quantitative and qualitative data within and across participating schools, programs, and sites;
- Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the development and validation of a measure of an inclusive mindset.
Qualifications for Project Coordinator Vacancy
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating and/or managing projects in a non-laboratory setting.
- Additionally, a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the fields above and 3+ years of coordination/management experience can be substituted for the above required educational and work experience.
- Likewise, experience conducting research and/or program evaluation, preferably within the education system. Also, experience overseeing the work of others.
- Data analysis experience (qualitative and quantitative) and experience with using analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, NVivo, Atlas.ti)
- Prior publishing experience and/or presentation experience at a regional/national conference.
- Furthermore, the incumbent should travel, both locally and nationally. International travel may also be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of issues surrounding social inclusion of students with disabilities and youth programming, social and emotional learning, positive youth development.
- Additionally, the ability to collect data through telephone and/or in-person interviews.
- Also, knowledge of scale development or measurement design.
- Likewise, experience conducting survey research, especially in schools.
- Additionally, experience with fieldwork or data collected through observation.
