Applications call for Zizzle Literary Flash Fiction Contest

Prizes

• First Prize: $1,000
• Second Prize: $500
• Three finalists: $150 each
• Winners will be announced in May 2021 in our newsletter and on our website and social media platforms.
• All prize winners and finalists will be published in Zizzle’s print, digital, and/or audio editions.
• Contest Judges will choose the first, second, and three finalist winning stories from submissions shortlisted by the Zizzle Team.

Eligibilities

• All entries must include a dialogue prompt from those we post on our social media platforms during the contest period. twitter.com/zizzlelit

• The program is looking for fiction that will appeal to young readers from age 11 and even to full-on grown-ups.
• Length: 500 to 1,000 words
• Simultaneous submissions are eligible. Zizzle Literary can only ask that you notify promptly if your story is accepted elsewhere.
• Multiple submissions are welcome.
• Submissions from Zizzle Literary Flash Fiction Contest can come from anywhere in the world, but stories must be written in English.
• Only previously unpublished works are considered.
• You must use the submission portal. Submissions by post or email will not be read.

Format

• Submit a typed, double-spaced manuscript.
• Cover pages are not necessary.
• Please include on the first page of your submission your full name and email address.

Submission Fee

• There is a non-refundable $5 submission fee per story.
• You may submit more than one story, but you will need to fill out a separate submission form and pay the submission fee for each story you submit.
• Once you’ve submitted a story, we cannot accept an updated draft. (Updated drafts count as new entries.)
