Fully Funded – School Teachers volunteers Needed in Germany

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The volunteers will support the daily school live.The time has shown how good the different personalities of volunteers with their different competencies and interests were integrated into the community with children. Often the volunteers started first in the school to find out their pedagogical competencies, They can learn how to realize their talents, to use them and to develop selective offers for kids. The children and youngsters work mainly in the form of a free-activity, which means that they chose different materials and try to make up with then various tasks and things. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The school is located in a suburb of Würzburg .The city of Würzburg is an attractive, easily understandable city with about 130 000 citizens. It offers a wide range of opportunities, how to spend one`s free time- culture, sport, shopping, pubs, events, fests and also good infrastructure. The accomodation for the volunteers is planned in a house belonging to the school 6 km from school and 12 km from Würzburg. You have a single room, share kitchen and bathroom with a 2. voluntreer.. You will get food money ( about 250 € a month) and a month ticket for the local transport

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

We will offer German language course in small groups for the volunteers and we will have monthly meetings ( to build up a volunteers net, make trips, celebrate parties,.. with all the volunteers ( about 15 volunteers in and arround Würzburg). We also offer complementary activities in form of seminars and workshops for the volunteers in the topic of rassism, and migrationpaedagogic. The on arrival trainng and midterm meeting organised from the German NA is obligatory.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

The volunteer sholud be very motivated to work with children between 9 and 18 years. The school has a very open “free work” concept, that means that the volunteer should know that he /she is more a coach or supervisor, Good language knowledge either in German or English would be very helpfull. The school has a project called “Erdkinderplan”, where the children work in a garden and renovate a house. In this project the volunteer will be/ can be also envolved
