ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

“People Have the Power” is a project for *7 months*. A mobilizer of ideas and a resource of tools that will allow young people to learn with each other, increase their awareness as human beings and citizens, be empowered to express themselves and put their ideas into action. This volunteering project will involve 8 young people (1 from each country) , between 18 and 30 years old, to cooperate and develop personally and their skills in topics connected to active citizenship. By taking part in this project, volunteers will be involved in activities such as: – Implement of surveys’ results; – Local interventions; – Creation of Podcasts to raise awareness to different subjects. Volunteers will also support the work of an international NGO (face to face and/or digital work) in the field of non-formal education (national and international seminars, international projects, local partnerships, school actions), developing their skills and learning to work in an international atmosphere.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The volunteers will live in the volunteers’ house on the countryside. It takes around 20 minutes by bus to get to the office in Bystrzyca Kl.,where the EFM office is located. The accommodation will be in double rooms with shared bathrooms on each floor and a large equipped kitchen. There are washing facilities at the house and free wireless internet throughout. Outside the house there is a small basketball court. Any transport in connection with the project will be covered by the receiving organization.The volunteer will receive food allowance and pocket money in the beginning of each month.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

The volunteer will participate in an orientation training during the first week of the project organized by Europejskie Forum Młodzieży (EFM). The volunteer will be also participating in the training organized by Polish National Agency of Erasmus+ Programme. Extra trainings will depend on the volunteer’s personal ideas and needs. If he or she needs special support to realize an idea within the project, it will be attempted to provide this training. General support is assured through the mentor.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for young people between 18- 30 years old: – Willing to integrate and socialize in a new culture and to show an open-minded behavior; – Ready to learn how to cooperate and work in an international group; – Willing to work with people who face difficult situations; – Flexible with different ways of working and learning; – Enthusiastic to explore new challenges and with sense of initiative; – Willing to be innovative and to implement ideas while at the same time understanding the goals and expectations of the organisation. No specific qualifications/ skills required.
