Traineeship Program 2018 by European Commission offered by the European Commission. The European Commission offers two 5 months paid traineeships, one from March to end July and the other from October to end February, to 1300 trainees each year. Starting on 1 March or 1 October, trainees gain hands-on experience of EU policy-making in a multicultural environment.

You will receive a job description covering the tasks you will be responsible for during your traineeship. You should receive this job description before you are asked to accept the traineeship offer.
As a trainee, you will receive a living allowance of 1,176 € per month. The 1st living allowance is paid at the end of the first month. From then on, you will receive it on the 15th of every month.
The living allowance does not fall under the special tax regulations that apply to servants of the European Communities. At the end of the traineeship, the Traineeships Office will provide a financial declaration on the amounts received. Consult the tax authorities in your country of residence regarding how and if your allowances will be taxed.
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is accepted in Brussels, Luxembourg and other potential traineeship destinations. You should register with your local “mutualité” for information on reimbursements.
Visa costs and related medical fees may be reimbursed together with the travel expenditures, where applicable.
Although you are not required to open a bank account in the country where you are a trainee, it is recommended and may prove cheaper and more convenient.
