Role Responsibility

• Exploratory testing across a range of devices on Android and iOS platforms
• Finding critical bugs or verifying reported issues, identifying their underlying cause and seeing them through to resolution, liaising with other teams where appropriate
• Documenting issues/defects using issue tracking software
• Help define and plan the testing for features early in the process
• Working closely with software engineers and products to ensure quality at all stages of development
• Shaping requirements with other disciplines to help ensure testing and quality are represented
• Working in agile rituals with your team to represent testing (Stand-ups, Retrospectives, Shaping)
• Identify risks to project timelines to help your team manage risk and prioritize work
• Presenting the results of initiatives and investigations to the team
• Working with other testers from around the BBC to share knowledge and learnings

• Experience working in a mobile application development team
• Awareness of software testing practices and tools
• Core programming fundamentals with any coding language
• Keen interest and desire to learn about software development
• Works well with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team in a distributed environment
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Inquisitive and willing to ask questions
• Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
