13th International Conference on The Image
Details
The International Conference on The Image invites conference participants to submit artistic work for entry to the 2022 Image Conference Pop-Up Exhibition. Invitation are for the entries which address the exhibition focus, Visual Pedagogies: Encounters, Place, Ecologies, and Design.
The Image Research Network seek to build an epistemic community where we can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic as well as cultural boundaries. As a Research Network the conference is defined by it’s scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tensions.
Theme
The 13th International Conference on The Image calls for research addressing the following annual themes and special focus:
- 2022 Special Focus—Here Comes the Metaverse: Designing the Virtual and the Real
- THE FORM OF THE IMAGE
- IMAGE WORK
- THE IMAGE IN SOCIETY
Submission Details
Entries are welcome in the following areas:
- Visual artworks—photography, prints, drawings, paintings
- Short films or videos
- Screen-based computer or net art.
Submission Guidelines
Entries must include the following:
- Email address
- Full name
- Title of work
- Description of your work (concept, idea, materials)
- Installation requirements: electricity, amount of wall space (approx. size of the work), mounting materials, etc.
Entries will be reviewed by 1 August 2022. After that, applicants will be notified of acceptance via email. Once an entry is accepted, participants must register for the conference.
