Hanaa is 24 years old Sudanese young woman. She is an ambitious young leader who studied French and English at the University of Khartoum and was among the top 5 students who were awarded an honors degree majoring in French. Her passion towards foreign languages opened new horizons for her to read more and increase her knowledge of the world around her. Hanaa was very passionate about writing; she commenced writing in her faculty's newspaper and was able to publish a couple of articles in "Altyar" newspaper which is a very popular local newspaper in Sudan. Ms. Hanaa is working now as a legal documents translator but in spite of her admiration for the field of translation, she found herself highly concerned about the development of her country which led her to grow a strong passion for development-oriented work and especially the one targeting youth. In July 2017, she was selected out of 2.500 other applicants to be a sustainable development goals advocate and volunteer with UNDP Sudan. She was very excited to know that she will finally get an opportunity to be integrated into the process of development and also charmed by the fact that she is an advocate for SDGs like Malala Yousafzai, as she is a huge source of inspiration for her. Now she wishes to help the youth in her country to be ambassadors of change and to participate in unique initiatives that allow everyone to take part in the development works.
