The University of Texas at Dallas offers Academic Excellence Scholarships Program(AES) each year to incoming first-time-in-college freshman students admitted for the fall term immediately following high school graduation.
Students are automatically considered for an AES award on the basis of their completed application to the university and no other materials are required.
Award criteria include SAT/ACT test scores and high school academic success on the basis of grades and class rank (if available).

All UT Dallas applications are considered for an Academic Excellence Scholarship. The priority deadline for admission and scholarship consideration is December 1. Furthermore, the university encourages future Comets to explore all scholarship opportunities available at the university and to complete a FAFSA.
Note: Funds available for each year’s new scholarship awards are limited.
No specific achievement in any category of the AES award factors guarantees a scholarship or specific award level.
The quantity and quality of freshman applicants influence the AES awarding process. The quality and number of applicants, as measured by SAT and ACT scores and high school academic success, increase each year.
Further, the award process is competitive and previous years should not be used to set expectations for scholarship awards. Also, AES is a merit-based scholarship and is awarded independent of financial need or extenuating circumstances.

Letters of recommendation, essays, or other materials are not considered in the award process and thus new submissions will not initiate a new award.
