Position Title: Lecturer in Cryptography at Monash University Faculty of Information

Roles and responsibilities
In particular, the incumbent will perform the following functions
- Conducting tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical
sessions and/or studio sessions. - Assist in the initiation and development of subject material.
- Acting as subject coordinators; the preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars.
- Supervision of the program of study of honors students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work. Similarly, supervision of major honors or postgraduate research projects.
- Conducting research as well as involve in professional activity.
- Development of course material with appropriate advice from and support of more senior staff.
- Marking assessments as well as consultation with students if necessary.
- Attendance at departmental, school and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a number of committees.
- Furthermore, candidates must also need to perform some administrative functions as assigned.
Minimum requirements
In order to be eligible for the position, the candidates must have the following qualifications
- A doctoral qualification in the relevant field or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated analytical and manuscript writing and preparation skills, including a strong track record of refereed research publications in a relevant field.
- Ability to solve complex problems by using discretion, innovation and the exercise of diagnostic skills and/or expertise.
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines. Similarly, excellent written communication and verbal communication skills with proven ability to produce clear,
succinct reports and documents. - A demonstrated awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling. Similarly, demonstrated the capacity to work in a collegiate manner with other staff in the workplace, including as a
member of a collaborative research team. - Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency in the production of high-level work using software such as Microsoft Office applications and specified University software programs, with the capability and willingness to learn new packages as appropriate.
- Broad expertise in cell biology and signaling is essential. Other expertise which is desirable includes manipulation of gene expression by shRNA/CRISPR, cell imaging and use of mouse models of cancer.
