Position: Tenure-track full-time faculty position in Health Science

About job

The successful appointee will work to contribute to the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. The language of teaching in the program is French.

In particular, the incumbent will do the following duties

• Develop and sustain a competitive, externally funded research program as well as teach at the graduate level.
• Participate in regular academic and administrative activities of the School, Faculty, and University.
• Supervise masters and doctoral students and also contribute actively to the team and the program.
• Leadership in the profession and discipline.
• Furthermore, perform other duties as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following requirements

• Ph.D. in communication disorders or a related field, preferably with research experience at the postdoctoral level. In addition to that, the potential for excellence in the teaching and supervision of graduate students.
• Similarly, research experience demonstrated by scholarly achievements (including publications in scientific journals) and the ability to develop and sustain a competitive-scale research program (including tri-council funding).
• Ability to teach in French; ability to participate in university activities in both official languages (French and English). Tenure is conditional on passive knowledge of English.
