Position: Lecturer in Creative Writing at the School of Literature, Art, and Media

Key responsibilities

The incumbent will be liable for the following duties

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Creative Writing/Creative Prose.
• Contribute to the research strengths of the School, including publishing regularly in journals of a high ranking and other quality outlets, and applying for creative grants.
• Supervise masters dissertations and creative higher research degrees.
• Contribute to academic administration.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following requirements

• A Ph.D. in English or equivalent creative doctorate. In addition to that, a strong record of creative publication and teaching in creative prose, and a demonstrated commitment to the principles of creative research and an integrated curriculum.
• Similarly, a demonstrated research track record in fiction and/or creative non-fiction (book and journal publication).
• Experience with book and journal publication, grant applications and public readings.
• Ability to work in a complex and challenging environment.
• The ability to work with colleagues not only in the Department but also in the Faculty, University and external partners in a collegial and effective manner.
