About Position

The University of Alabama is seeking highly qualified and prominent faculty member under the Department of Biology and Environmental Science. In general, the position holder will be accountable for teaching Biological Science. Equally important as teaching, s/he will be also conducting and supervising research activities. Other than that, the Assistant Professor will be carrying out the following duties

• Teaching Microbiology as well as other courses as per the direction of the Departement head.
•  Directing, guiding as well as supervising undergraduate and graduate research
•  Involvement in any departmental and University committees assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairperson and Dean.
• Furthermore, fulfill other duties expected of a faculty member, such as student advising, departmental recruitment and retention activities, public service, etc.

Skills and qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Biological Science or closely related subjects.
• Ability to direct undergraduate and graduate research. Similarly,  an ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students from varied socio-economic/ethnic backgrounds.
• Strong commitment to teaching and conducting researches.
• Previous experience of teaching at a higher level will be preferred. Similarly, knowledge or background of Microbiology will be an asset.
