About position

Seattle Pacific University is seeking a highly qualified person to accept the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science. The University aims to be the best Christian University and seeks commitment to Christianity from their staffs. Also, the position holder must have a strong commitment to the Christain mission of the university.

Alongside contributing to Christian missions, the professor will do the following things under the Department of Engineering and Computer Science.

• Teach and assist students in the Department of Engineering and Computer Science.
• Similarly, participating in the life of the department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University.
• In addition to that, other academic and administrative duties assigned by Departments and university.

Requirement

In order to be eligible for the position of Assistant Professor of Computer Science, the candidate must possess the following qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely-related field. However, ABD candidates will be considered.
• Candidates in any specialization can apply. But however, candidates with a background in cybersecurity or mobile/Web computing will be given some priority.
• In addition to that, one must have a commitment to undergraduate education.
• Evidence of the ability to teach, advise and mentor underrepresented and first-generation students is desirable.
• Compatible with University’s ecumenical Christian mission as expressed in SPU’s Statement of Faith.
