Salve Regina University calls candidates for the Lecturer-Nursing in Newsport. Full-Time Lecturer in Nursing Faculty develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing program on an ongoing basis. This position participates in advising students, curriculum development, program revisions, program evaluations, textbook selection, teaching in the classroom and clinical setting, evaluation of student achievement, and other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the university.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the post
- BSN and Master’s degree in nursing required from an ACEN or CCNE -accredited institution
- Previous teaching experience preferred; two years of classroom and or clinical instruction in the area/areas of teaching responsibility; knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, and evaluation.
- Current/unencumbered RI RN license; current healthcare provider CPR.
- Proficient in computer usage
- Ability to meet changes of adult learners with diverse backgrounds
- Self-directed and innovative
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities
The interested candidates will perform the following duties as a Lecturer-Nursing
- The applicants must participate in interviewing and make recommendations for the hiring of Adjunct Faculty.
- In addition to that, they must arrange coverage of classes during own absences and emergency leaves.
- Also, they must promote rapport within the department, campus, and community.
- Similarly, they should post and keep a minimum of five office hours per week that are convenient for students who seek assistance with counseling, academic advising, and coursework.
- Additionally, the candidates must maintain punctuality in meeting assigned classes and clinical.
- Moreover, they must function as a Lead Faculty for assigned courses. Plans, monitors, and evaluates the instruction provided by the Adjunct Faculty assisting with any aspect of the course.
- Furthermore, they should model professional behavior and standards of practice while in the workplace.
Teaching Load
- Teaching load is a minimum of 12 credits for one semester and 9 credits in the second semester or 9 credits in each semester when teaching clinical courses.
- Moreover, it may be divided between theory and clinical instruction if needed.
