Job at Colorado Mesa University. The Colorado Mesa University Department of Music is accepting applications from a versatile pianist/keyboardist to appoint as a full-time, tenure-track position. The incumbent will hold the title and carry the duties as the Assistant Professor of Piano and Commercial Keyboard.

The Assistant Professor of Piano and Commercial Keyboard will do the following tasks in particular

• Coordinate all aspects of the piano and keyboard curriculum as well as teach piano and commercial keyboard lessons.
• Maintain an active schedule of creative/scholarly activities in a variety of genres including commercial and jazz styles, including performing in faculty ensembles.
• Direct ensembles based on departmental need and candidate strengths, such as a keyboard, jazz, and commercial ensembles.
• Recruit and retain a dynamic studio of future performers, educators, and entrepreneurs.
• Furthermore, perform service for the department and institution.

Requirements

The candidates will have the following requirements

• Master’s degree in music. In addition to that, significant private teaching experience is necessary.
• Varied and notable performance experience as well as experience in directing ensembles.
• Doctoral degree in music or commensurate professional experience preferred.
• Similarly, the ability to teach entrepreneurship skills and evidence of strong program/studio building preferred.
